WELLINGTON, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM – 02nd Sep, 2026) A 5.5-magnitude earthquake struck 40 kilometres northeast of Milford Sound on New Zealand‘s South Island on Wednesday, the country’s earthquake monitoring agency reported.
The quake struck at a depth of 5 kilometres and was classified as moderate, according to GeoNet, which said nearly 7,000 people had reported feeling the tremor.
