LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 31st Aug, 2026) Under the ‘Apni Chhat Apna Ghar program’, it has been decided to provide loans of Rs 500,000 to 1 million to citizens for the repair of dilapidated roofs.
According to sources, one lakh applications have been received on the loan portal so far for the repair of dilapidated roofs, which are being screened.
After the screening of the applications is completed, the provision of loans to the deserving applicants will be started in a phased manner.
Sources say that the plan has been made to start issuing loans for the repair of dilapidated roofs after September 15. The government had planned to provide loans for the repair of dilapidated roofs during the monsoon, however, it was decided to start providing loans after the spell of six heavy monsoon rains passed.
According to a spokesperson for the housing authorities, screening of applications received for loans has started, while a procedure for providing loans through the Bank of Punjab has been formulated.
After the screening is completed, loans will be provided to the deserving applicants in phases.
The authorities have decided to keep the portal for receiving applications for obtaining loans open, under which citizens will be able to submit applications for obtaining loans for repairing their dilapidated roofs in the future as well.
