ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 28th Aug, 2026) The National Assembly on Friday unanimously passed a resolution expressing profound grief and sorrow over the tragic loss of innocent infant lives in the recent fire incident at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Islamabad.
The resolution, tabled by Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, Danyal Chaudhary, strongly condemned the incident and expressed grave concern over the alleged negligence that resulted in the loss of precious lives.
The resolution called upon the government to take strict action against anyone found responsible for negligence or safety lapses in accordance with the law.
It also called upon the government to ascertain the facts surrounding the incident, fix responsibility for any negligence or safety lapses, and take appropriate action in accordance with the law.
The resolution further called upon the government to ensure strict implementation of fire safety and emergency preparedness measures in Federal government hospitals, particularly in neonatal and paediatric units, to prevent the recurrence of such tragic incidents in the future.
The resolution extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for strength and fortitude for them in this hour of profound grief.
