KARACHI, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 27th Aug, 2026) Sindh Senior Minister and Provincial Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon on Thursday said that roads are being built in Sindh, houses are being constructed, electricity is being generated, and the province is moving forward rapidly.
The Sindh government does not merely make claims; its development projects and practical measures themselves are a testament to its performance, said a statement.
The Sindh development program for the financial year 2025-26 has been set at Rs 1,018 billion, comprising 3,642 schemes.
He said that Sindh’s development budget and the scale of its development activities are clear evidence of the government’s priorities.
Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said that over the last five years, 5,636 kilometers of roads have been constructed in Sindh, while 1,460 development schemes have been completed.
The greatest evidence of Sindh’s development is the facilities being directly provided to the people. The efforts of the Sindh government in the fields of health and basic amenities are being recognized around the world.
He said that the construction of 2.1 million pakka houses for flood victims is an unprecedented relief and rehabilitation initiative.
He said that 3,240 MW of electricity generated through the Thar Coal project is being supplied to the people across the country through the national grid, while several renewable energy projects, including wind and solar power projects, have also been integrated into the national grid. In the irrigation sector, 3,675 miles of canal lining projects have been completed, resulting in water savings of 5,880 cusecs.
Sindh’s PPP portfolio has increased from approximately Rs 5 billion in 2010 to more than Rs 700 billion in 2024, while projects worth Rs 142 billion are currently under implementation, he said.
He said that the development of Sindh is not the development of any one city or class, but the development of the people of the entire country. The people of Pakistan are benefiting from Sindh’s resources, energy, infrastructure, and various services without discrimination, he said.
