ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 27th Aug, 2026) Speaker of National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has assumed the office of Acting President.
Ayaz Sadiq has assumed the responsibilities of the Acting President as the President of Pakistan is currently on leave to visit the Republic of Austria from 27 to 31 August 2026.
Meanwhile, the Chairman Senate has also proceeded abroad on an official visit, said a news release issued here by the National Assembly Secretariat.
In view of the absence of both the President and the Chairman Senate, Ayaz Sadiq will perform the functions of the President until the return of the President or the Chairman Senate to Pakistan.
Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq will continue to discharge his responsibilities as Acting President in accordance with the constitutional provisions governing the performance of the functions of the President during such an absence.
