BAHAWALPUR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 27th Aug, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Syed Hasan Raza chaired a review meeting on restoration, renovation and improvement of the Central Library Bahawalpur, with a focus on making the facility more effective and aligned with modern requirements.
The meeting reviewed the library’s existing condition, available facilities and proposed measures for improvement. Officials also briefed the participants on a practical, sustainable and coordinated approach for upgrading the Central Library in line with contemporary needs. The DC directed that renovation and beautification work at the Central Library be completed on a priority basis. He called for coordinated measures to make the interior and exterior of the building attractive, well-organised, clean and welcoming.
He directed the relevant authorities to arrange the books systematically in subject-wise sections and properly organize them on shelves so that students, researchers and general readers could easily and promptly locate the books they require. The deputy commissioner also ordered for provision of high standards of cleanliness throughout the library, improvement of furniture and reading areas, and enhancement of available facilities to make them more comfortable and convenient for readers.
He said the library should provide a peaceful, clean and pleasant environment conducive to reading and research, enabling students, researchers and members of the general public to make better use of the facility.
The DC said the Central Library was an important centre for promoting knowledge, research and reading and should therefore be modernized and made more active and effective. He stressed that improving the available facilities would further enhance the library’s contribution to the promotion of learning and research. He directed the relevant authorities to ensure effective and timely implementation of the practical plan being prepared for the restoration and improvement of the library. He also called for regular monitoring of all related activities and completion of the assigned measures within the stipulated timeframe.
