CAPITALS, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM – 24th Aug, 2026) UAE Team Emirates-XRG rider Isaac del Toro finished the job on the final day of the Lidl Deutschland Tour, crossing the line as part of the peloton to seal the overall title.
The Mexican became the first of his countrymen ever to win the general classification in Germany, as he moved UAE Team Emirates-XRG to 67 victories in 2026. It was his 11th win of 2026, and his fourth stage race success of the season, following the UAE Tour, Tirreno-Adriatico and the Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.
Paul Magnier of Soudal Quick-Step won stage 4 in 3:37:39, ahead of Danny Van Poppel of Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe and Tim Torn Teutenberg of Lidl-Trek, who were both given the same time.
In the general classification (final) after stage 4, Del Toro finished with an overall time of 17:39:48, 53 seconds ahead of Visma-Lease a Bike’s Louis Barré, while Tudor Pro Cycling‘s Marc Hirschi was third, 1:08 behind.
Meanwhile, Tadej Pogačar finished third on stage 2 of the Vuelta a España in Spain, with the result enough for the UAE Team Emirates-XRG rider to retain the red leader’s jersey.
Visma-Lease a Bike’s Matthew Brennan won the stage in 4:47:47, ahead of Bahrain Victorious rider Miquel Pau and Pogačar, who were both given the same time.
Pogačar leads the general classification with an overall time of 4:58:40. Wout van Aert of Visma-Lease a Bike is second, nine seconds behind, with teammate Brennan third at 10 seconds.
