QUETTA, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 20th Aug, 2026) Preparations for 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal were reviewed in a high-level meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Quetta Mehrullah Badini, with Deputy Commissioner (West) Munir Ahmed Durani, officials from all relevant departments, representatives of Jamaat Ahl-e-Sunnat, scholars, and community leaders in attendance.
The meeting focused on the routes of processions and gatherings, sanitation measures, security arrangements, electricity supply, and illumination across the city. Detailed briefings were presented by Safa Quetta, Metropolitan Corporation Quetta (MCQ), PDMA, QESCO, Sui Gas, Police, Frontier Corps, and the Health Department (DHO), among others.
Deputy Commissioner Badini directed that special sanitation arrangements be ensured along all procession routes, while uninterrupted electricity supply must be guaranteed at venues of gatherings.
He instructed that streetlights and illumination on major roads be repaired and installed ahead of the occasion.
Security agencies were tasked with implementing a foolproof security plan for all programs, supported by coordinated traffic management, emergency response, medical facilities, and civic services. The Deputy Commissioner stressed that no negligence would be tolerated in maintaining peace, cleanliness, security, and public amenities during the observance of 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal, urging all departments to work in close coordination to fulfill their responsibilities.
