PESHAWAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 20th Aug, 2026) Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Thursday urged the youth to shape their lives in accordance with the teachings of Seerat-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him), stressing that education, skills and positive thinking were essential for building responsible citizens and ensuring a peaceful and prosperous Pakistan.
Addressing the National Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH) Conference as chief guest at the Governor House, the Governor said the practical implementation of the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) teachings was the need of the hour. Prominent religious scholars and spiritual leaders from across the country attended the conference.
Welcoming the participants, Kundi said it was an honour for the Governor House to host the national conference. He said the Seerat of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) was not confined to a particular day or occasion but served as a complete code of life for all humanity.
He said the Holy Prophet (PBUH) exemplified compassion, justice, equality, tolerance and truthfulness, adding that his exemplary character united people and transformed a divided society into a strong and cohesive community.
The Governor said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had rendered immense sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, with members of the armed forces, police, tribal elders, religious scholars, students and women laying down their lives for peace.
He called upon religious scholars to play a proactive role in the character-building of the younger generation and to spread the message of peace, tolerance, brotherhood, justice and humanity inspired by the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
Kundi stressed the need for collective efforts against sectarianism, hatred, prejudice and extremism, saying the protection of minorities, their lives, property and places of worship was a shared national responsibility.
He reaffirmed the commitment to transform Khyber Pakhtunkhwa into a province of peace, education, development and prosperity through joint efforts.
The Governor also said the entire nation stood united with Pakistan’s armed forces for the country’s defence and security. Referring to the Makkah Defence Agreement, he termed it an honour for Pakistan and described Turkiye’s inclusion as an important milestone. He credited Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir with playing a key role in giving practical shape to the agreement.
Highlighting the contributions of Pakistan Peoples Party leaders to national defence, Kundi said Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto played a pivotal role in convening the first Islamic Summit Conference and laying the foundation of Pakistan’s nuclear programme.
He said Shaheed Benazir Bhutto contributed to the advancement of missile technology, while President Asif Ali Zardari strengthened the country’s defence capability through the JF-17 Thunder programme during his previous tenure.
