
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Abdul Kareem took notice of the killing of two persons in firing by alleged opponents in Phalia, Mandi Bahauddin, and ordered immediate arrest of the suspects involved in the incident
LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 19th Aug, 2026) Inspector General of Police (IGP) Abdul Kareem took notice of the killing of two persons in firing by alleged opponents in Phalia, Mandi Bahauddin, and ordered immediate arrest of the suspects involved in the incident.
According to police spokesperson, the IGP sought a report from regional police officer (RPO) Gujranwala and directed district police officer (DPO) Mandi Bahauddin to utilise all available resources to arrest the accused involved in the firing.
The incident occurred when the victims were returning after appearing before a court in Phalia and came under fire allegedly by their opponents, police said.
Following the incident, the DPO Mandi Bahauddin, senior police officers and forensic teams reached the scene and collected evidence.
The DPO said special teams had been constituted for the arrest of the suspects and they would be apprehended soon.
The deceased were identified as 45-year-old Zafar and 26-year-old Hasnain.
Further investigation into the incident was underway.
