MULTAN, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 19th Aug, 2026) Regional Police Officer (RPO) Multan Usman Akram Gondal has directed police officers of the region’s four districts to further intensify crime prevention measures after an encouraging decline in the overall crime rate.
He issued the directions while presiding over a crime meeting at the Regional Police Office Multan, where the law and order situation, crime trends and police performance across Multan, Vehari, Khanewal and Lodhran was reviewed in detail.
RPO Usman Akram Gondal termed the decline in the overall crime ratio encouraging, stressing that the trend must be consolidated through more effective policing, improved investigation and sustained action against criminals.
The meeting was attended by City Police Officer (CPO) Multan Sadiq Ali Dogar, District Police Officers (DPOs) Vehari Tasawwar Iqbal, Khanewal Muhammad Abid and Lodhran Beenish Fatima, SSP Investigation Muhammad Tahir Khichi and SSP Regional Investigation Branch Hassan Raza Khakhi.
The RPO directed district police officers to accord priority to sensitive cases and ensure the arrest of suspects and proclaimed offenders involved in such cases. He also called for improvement in the quality of investigation and speedy disposal of cases strictly on merit.
He directed police officers to utilize all available resources for crime prevention, protection of citizens’ life and property and provision of efficient police services.
Usman Akram Gondal said police officers’ performance would be reviewed regularly, while officers demonstrating outstanding performance would be encouraged and appreciated.
“Further improvement in police performance for the protection of citizens and elimination of crime remains our foremost priority,” he said, emphasizing that effective policing, merit-based investigation and timely action against criminals were essential to maintaining peace and public confidence in the region.
