CHINIOT, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 18th Aug, 2026) On the special directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Punjab government is taking measures to improve the quality and accessibility of healthcare facilities for citizens across Chiniot district. In this regard on Tuesday, a ceremony was held at Maryam Nawaz Hospital Chak 14 under the auspices of the District Health Authority Chiniot to distribute ultrasound machines among Maryam Nawaz Health Clinics.
Deputy Commissioner Chiniot Ayesha Rizwan attended the ceremony as chief guest and distributed ultrasound machines to doctors serving at the health clinics. Chief Executive Officer District Health Authority Dr. Ahmed Khan, District Health Officer Dr. Naima Ashraf, DCM RNCH Dr. Salman, other health department officials and concerned doctors were also present on the occasion.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan said ultrasound machines had been provided to 13 Maryam Nawaz Health Clinics across the district, enabling residents, particularly those living in remote areas, to access essential diagnostic services closer to their homes. She said the facility would save citizens from travelling to DHQ and THQ hospitals for routine ultrasound scans.
The Deputy Commissioner also said, in line with the directions of the Punjab government, concerted efforts were being made to further improve healthcare facilities throughout the district. She further stated that provision of modern medical services in underserved and remote areas was among the government’s key priorities, adding that such initiatives would ensure the benefits of improved healthcare reached ordinary citizens directly.
