PESHAWAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 14th Aug, 2026) A grand ceremony was organized at Pakistan Forest Institute (PFI) Peshawar to celebrate Pakistan’s Independence Day, in which Advisor to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Climate Change, Wildlife and Forestry, Pir Musawar Khan attended as the special guest.
Sher Ali Afridi MPA, Parliamentary Secretary Climate Change Wildlife Forestry and Director General Pakistan Forest Institute Manzoor Ahmed, along with directors, officers and other employees of the institution, participated in the ceremony.
The ceremony began with national anthem after which Pir Musawar Khan hoisted the national flag in presence of Director General Pakistan Forest Institute, Manzoor Ahmed.
On this occasion, special prayers were also offered for the country’s development, prosperity, peace and stability and the security of the beloved homeland.
Tree plantation was also organized on the occasion of Independence Day.
Special guests Pir Musawar Khan and Sher Ali Afridi, Parliamentary Secretary Climate Change World Life and Forestry, planted a sapling, while Director General Pakistan Forest Institute Manzoor Ahmed also participated in the tree plantation campaign by planting a sapling.
On this occasion, the importance of tree plantation was emphasized for the promotion of forests, environmental protection and combating the negative effects of climate change.
Later, an Independence Day walk was organized by Pakistan Forest Institute wherein participants raised national flag and expressed their love for Pakistan, national solidarity and commitment to the homeland.
At the end of the ceremony, it was reiterated that the Pakistan Forest Institute will continue to fulfill its responsibilities in the country for the promotion of forests, environmental protection, combating climate change and establishing a green and lush Pakistan.
