PESHAWAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 14th Aug, 2026) Chief Justice Peshawar High Court, Justice S.M. Attique Shah hoisted national flag on court premises and extended warmest felicitation to legal fraternity and people on independence day.
The ceremony was attended by judges of High Court, former judges, Principal Staff Officers, representatives of KP Bar Council, Peshawar High Court Bar Association and District Bar Association.
A smartly turned out police contingent presented guard of honor while police band played the National Anthem. Children dressed in traditional national attire added color and vibrancy to the ceremony.
On the occasion, the chief justice emphasized that the true meaning of independence lies in an impartial, accessible and progressive justice system that protects the fundamental rights of every citizen.
He reaffirmed the Peshawar High Court’s commitment to moving beyond traditional paradigms by embracing technology and innovation for speedy and transparent justice.
He stressed that judicial reform must be guided by inclusivity, accessibility, institutional integrity and the rule of law and called upon judges, lawyers and court officials to embrace a culture of continuous improvement while preserving judicial independence and due process.
The ceremony concluded with a renewed commitment by the Peshawar High Court to advance independent, impartial and inclusive justice in keeping with the constitutional promise of equality, dignity, fundamental rights and the rule of law.
