SUKKUR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 13th Aug, 2026) Spokesman, Sindh Government and Mayor of Sukkur, Barrister Arslan islam Sheikh on Thursday has said that the District Administration Sukkur and Sukkur Municipal Corporation were organizing grand and historic celebrations in Sukkur and Pano Aqil on the occasion of Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day.
The ceremonies included a Grand Patriotic Celebration, musical concerts, performances by renowned artists, national flag hoisting, a 300-foot-tall national flag, a special 79-pound Independence Day cake and a grand fireworks display.
On August 13, a Grand Patriotic Celebration was being held at Walking Track, Military Road, near Globe Chowk, Sukkur, which would be starting at 8:30 PM, while the musical concert would be held at 9:00 PM and the grand fireworks at 12:00 midnight. The chief guest of the ceremony would be Provincial Minister for Local Government, Government of Sindh, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah.
Renowned artists Israr Shah, Arooj Fatima and Jafar from Gym would present special performances at the event, while the 300-foot-tall national flag will be the center of special attraction.
On August 14, at 7:30 AM, a dignified flag-hoisting ceremony would be held at Walking Track, Military Road, Sukkur, which would include recitation of the Holy Quran, Naat, national flag hoisting, national anthem, march past by police, troops and scouts, and a special Independence Day message.
Provincial Minister for Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah will be the chief guest of the ceremony.
On August 14 at 5:00 PM, a historic Grand Patriotic Celebration would be organized in the Kacha area at Village Samo Chachar, Union Council Sadhhuja, Taluka Pano Aqil.
According to the administration, in the 79 year history of Pakistan, this would be a unique event of its kind, where in an atmosphere of peace, a beautiful display of Independence Day celebration, national unity, culture and love for the country will be presented.
The event would include a musical concert, special performances by renowned artists, national flag hoisting, a special 79-pound Independence Day cake and grand fireworks.
Renowned artists Mumtaz Molai, Asghar Khoso and talented young singer Maham Tahir would present special performances at the Pano Aqil ceremony. The participation of these artists would make the event even more memorable.
The administration said that this event being held in the Kacha area was a symbol that peace is not just the end of fear, but the creation of an environment where people can celebrate happiness, participate in cultural activities and celebrate Independence Day with pride and joy.
