AJK EC Annonces Re-polling In 23 Polling Stations Of AJK’s Bagh Constituencies On Aug 15

Azad Jammu and Kashmir Election Commission (AJK EC) has decided to hold re-polling at 23 polling stations in two constituencies of Bagh district on August 15, official sources said

MIRPUR (AJK) , (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point news – 11th Aug, 2026) Azad Jammu and Kashmir Election Commission (AJK EC) has decided to hold re-polling at 23 polling stations in two Constituencies of Bagh district on August 15, official sources said.

According to a press release issued by the AJK Election Commission, re-polling will be held at nine polling stations in LA-15 Central Bagh and 14 polling stations in LA-16 Eastern Bagh, authorotative sources told APP on Tuesday.

In LA-16 Eastern Bagh, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Sardar Mir Akbar Khan is currently leading by 3,225 votes. However, around 7,500 registered voters are expected to cast their votes at the remaining 14 polling stations where re-polling will be conducted on August 15.

The polling stations scheduled for re-polling in Eastern Bagh include Seewar Kalo, Jogi Mora, Nazar Pur, Salyan, Kala Ban, Seri Kala, Seri, Malak, Kharl Maldiyalan and the Basic Health Unit (BHU), among others.

Meanwhile, in LA-15 Central Bagh, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate Sardar Zia-ul-Qamar is leading by 1,622 votes. Around 5,000 voters will be eligible to cast their ballots at the nine polling stations where re-polling has been ordered.

The polling stations in Central Bagh include Galla Malot, Kiyani, Hatala Pader, Gahl Chhaprian, Bari Bari and Makhdoom Kot, among others.

Following the Election Commission’s reported decision, political parties and candidates in both constituencies have shifted their focus to the August 15 re-polling. Given the relatively narrow margins between the leading candidates and the number of voters yet to cast their ballots, the re-polling results are expected to play a decisive role in determining the final outcome in both constituencies.
