LAYYAH, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 11th Aug, 2026) The district administration has intensified crackdown against illegal LPG refilling in vehicles, with a joint team of Civil Defence and PERA Force conducting an operation in Chowk Azam on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Asif Ali Dogar.
During inspections of LPG refilling workshops, the team detected illegal refilling of vehicles at two workshops and took two Hilux pickups, along with LPG cylinders, into custody. The vehicles were subsequently handed over to the PERA Force for further legal action.
The operation also led to the seizure of 50 empty LPG cylinders, each with a capacity of 45 kilograms, besides a five-kilogram cylinder and a refilling generator.
Civil Defence and PERA Force officials have initiated legal proceedings against those involved in the illegal refilling activity.
Civil Defence Officer Touqeer Abbas said that illegal LPG refilling in vehicles was extremely dangerous and posed a serious threat to human lives. He made it clear that such unlawful practices would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
On the directions of the Deputy Commissioner, the authorities have decided to further intensify the crackdown and continue indiscriminate action against illegal LPG refilling facilities across the district.
