KOHAT, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 11th Aug, 2026) A comprehensive monsoon tree plantation campaign is gaining momentum across the district as the administration steps up efforts to expand green cover and promote environmental sustainability.
The campaign is being carried out under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nawaz Wazir, with officials and staff from various government departments planting saplings at public offices, educational institutions and other suitable locations.
Plantation activities are underway at Kohat University, the district courts area, Service Delivery Centre and Livestock Department, besides Lachi, Gumbat and Darra Adam Khel tehsils.
Officials said the initiative was aimed at making Kohat greener and healthier while improving air quality, reducing pollution and helping mitigate the impacts of climate change.
They called upon citizens to actively participate in the plantation campaign and take responsibility for protecting and nurturing newly planted saplings.
The district administration is also undertaking a range of measures to improve the cleanliness, greenery and overall environmental quality of the district, with the monsoon plantation drive forming a key component of these efforts.
