DC Directs Identification, Vaccination Of Missed Children During Anti-polio Drive


RAWALPINDI, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 11th Aug, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Captain (Retd) Nadeem Nasir on Monday directed health officials to immediately identify children missed during the ongoing anti-polio drive and ensure their vaccination.

Chairing a meeting to review the performance of the first day of the campaign, being conducted from August 10 to 13, he directed field teams to ensure that every child under five received polio vaccine drops.

The DC also called for more effective monitoring of field teams and stressed coordinated efforts by all concerned departments to achieve the complete eradication of polio.

He appealed to parents to ensure that their children under five received polio vaccine drops to help achieve the goal of a polio-free Pakistan.

The meeting reviewed vaccination targets, field teams’ performance and coverage, along with activities in different areas and issues encountered during the first day of the campaign.

It was decided that the campaign’s performance would be reviewed daily and all available resources utilised to achieve the prescribed coverage targets.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Enforcement) Abdul Rehman Khan, Chief Executive Officer Health, District Health Officer, World Health Organization Coordinator Rawalpindi-Islamabad, area in-charges and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
