LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 10th Aug, 2026) City Traffic Police Lahore (CTPL) launched a public outreach campaign to curb smog
and environmental pollution for a clean and healthy environment.
Under the campaign, citizens have been urged to send videos and photographs of smoke-emitting
vehicles to Lahore Traffic Police’s WhatsApp number 0322-5638888, on the basis of which
immediate action will be taken against the violators.
He said that besides enforcement, Lahore Traffic Police were also conducting public awareness and outreach activities to prevent smog.
He urged citizens to cooperate with traffic police in identifying smoke-emitting vehicles by sharing their pictures and videos on the designated WhatsApp number.
According to the CTO, more than 7,330 vehicles causing environmental pollution were issued
tickets of Rs2,000 each during the last month, while 3,759 vehicles emitting smoke at dangerously
high levels were impounded at different police stations.
Similarly, action was taken against 2,337 vehicles carrying sand, soil and other materials contributing to environmental pollution.
