ABBOTTABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 7th Aug, 2026) The district administration on Friday reviewed preparations for the Mega Plantation Event 2026 and a large-scale tree plantation campaign to be launched on August 14, reaffirming its commitment to promoting environmental conservation and sustainable development.
The review meeting was held on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Sarmad Saleem Akram and chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Gohar Ali. It was attended by the Assistant Commissioner Headquarters, Additional Assistant Commissioners, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Galiyat, and officials from the Youth Affairs Department, education Department, Rescue 1122, and other relevant departments.
The meeting examined arrangements for the district-wide plantation drive in line with government directives and discussed the strategy for achieving the campaign’s objectives.
All concerned forest divisions were directed to initiate plantation activities, while the participating departments were instructed to ensure maximum involvement and implement effective measures to meet the assigned targets.
Speaking on the occasion, the chair stressed the importance of close coordination among all relevant institutions to ensure the success of the campaign. The district administration reiterated that it would continue implementing tree plantation initiatives in accordance with government policy to promote environmental protection, a greener Pakistan, and sustainable development.
