LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 3rd Aug, 2026) Punjab Minister for Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal Sohail Shaukat Butt on Monday congratulated the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir on the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) sweeping victory in the refugee Constituencies.
He said the electoral success reflected the public’s unwavering confidence in the leadership of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
In a statement, the minister said the party’s victory in all 10 refugee seats in Punjab was a recognition of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s dedicated efforts, transparent governance and people-centric welfare initiatives. He said the Kashmiri electorate had demonstrated through the power of the ballot that it stood firmly with the politics of development, stability and public service.
Sohail Shaukat Butt said the PML-N was fully prepared for the upcoming elections in Poonch Division and expressed confidence that the people there would also place their trust in the party’s election symbol, the lion.
He expressed the hope that a PML-N government in Azad Jammu and Kashmir would usher in a new era of development, prosperity and public welfare, following the governance model being pursued in Pakistan and Punjab.
The minister thanked the Kashmiri people for their support, saying they had used the ballot to endorse democracy, development and public service. He added that the PML-N would continue to accelerate its efforts to serve the people while honouring the public mandate.
