LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 3rd Aug, 2026) Punjab Information and Culture Minister Azma Bokhari said the peaceful conduct of the second phase of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections reflected the people’s confidence in Pakistan’s democratic system, as voters enthusiastically exercised their democratic right.
In a statement issued on Sunday, she said the people voted in favour of the Pakistan Muslim League (N), inspired by the people-friendly performance of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. She added that the peaceful polling process demonstrated the maturity of the democratic process in Azad Kashmir.
Azma Bokhari said the people of Kashmir had once again placed their trust in the politics of public service, development and performance by electing PML-N candidates in large numbers. She said the successful election campaign of the party laid the foundation for its victory and received an overwhelming public response.
The provincial minister said the people of Kashmir had rejected the politics of chaos, negativity and baseless allegations. She maintained that the PML-N has consistently focused on public service, development projects and practical governance, which has enabled it to retain the confidence of the people.
She said Kashmiri women and youth appreciated the welfare initiatives introduced by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. She added that the youth of Azad Kashmir also deserved access to modern education, laptops, scholarships, electric bikes and better employment opportunities, along with quality roads, electric buses and public welfare programmes such as “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar.”
Azma Bokhari further said that those alleging election rigging would continue making such claims, but the people would keep electing the Pakistan Muslim League (N) on the basis of its service, governance and performance.
