HYDERABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 31st Jul, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad, Abdul Samad Nizamani, chaired a meeting of District Coordination Committee on the National Action Plan (NAP)/Apex Committee l at Darbar Hall Friday.
The meeting reviewed the performance of various departments during July, including actions against encroachments, illegal and unregistered petrol pumps, smuggling and hoarding, electricity theft, professional begging, enforcement of traffic laws, operations against smuggling dumps, implementation of Point of Sale (POS) system, and action against non-custom-paid vehicles. A detailed performance report on these initiatives was presented.
The deputy commissioner directed all concerned departments to further strengthen operations against encroachments, hoarding, smuggling, electricity theft, and other illegal activities in accordance with the government’s policy.
He emphasized that all institutions should work with close coordination and a unified strategy to ensure better public service delivery.
Keeping in view the ongoing monsoon season, deputy commissioner instructed Municipal Corporation and all town officers to ensure the cleaning of storm-water drains and keep all machinery fully operational so that rainwater could be drained promptly during heavy rainfall.
He also directed assistant commissioners and other relevant officers to intensify ongoing crackdown against illegal petrol pumps, fuel units, and oil agencies across the district, while taking strict action against those selling non-custom-paid goods.
The DC instructed Food Control Authority to launch effective operations against the manufacture and sale of substandard and hazardous food items and submit a detailed report. After reviewing the performance of various departments, the meeting also discussed future course of action. The concerned officers were directed to regularly submit progress reports on ongoing campaigns and enforcement activities to district administration.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Saddam Hussain Memon, District Manager PPHI Zakir Hussain Samo, Municipal Commissioner Abdul Razaq Shaikh, DSP Abdul Hameed Jalbani, In-charge Food Control Authority Naveed Abbas Zardari, Rescue In-charge Zeeshan Zardari, Assistant Commissioners of all tehsils, and officers from the Police, Revenue, Excise, Customs, law enforcement agencies, Traffic Police, and other relevant departments.
