KARACHI, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 30th Jul, 2026) Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology (SSUET) organized highly anticipated Job Fair 2026 at the campus, attracting participation from over 120 renowned companies who set up their stalls to facilitate students and provide an invaluable opportunity for students to explore career options, build professional connections, and take significant steps toward their dream careers.

Chancellor SSUET, Muhammad Akbar Ali Khan, launched the Job Fair by cutting the ribbon and visited the various stalls, expressing his admiration for the students’ efforts and their creative contributions.

Governor Sindh Nihal Hashmi, accompanied by the Chancellor SSUET, Muhammad Akbar Ali Khan, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Afzal Haque, Registrar Cdre. (r) Syed Sarfraz Ali SI (M), visited the Job Fair and inaugurated Muhammad Zakir Ali Khan Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Game Innovation (AI Lab), a cutting-edge facility designed to advance research, education, and innovation in the field of information technology.

The SSUET AI Lab aims to provide students and researchers with access to the latest technology and resources, fostering an environment of collaboration and creativity. The facility is equipped with advanced computing power, machine learning tools, and collaborative workspaces, enabling groundbreaking research and hands-on learning experiences.

Addressing the ceremony, Governor Nihal Hashmi highlighted Pakistan’s significant advancements in cyber technology and the ongoing digital transformation within the country. “We are far ahead in cyber technology, and we must continue to adopt the latest IT innovations to maintain our competitive edge,” he remarked.

He underscored that the vision initiated by Sir Syed Ahmed Khan must be carried forward by the next generation. He urged the inspiring students and faculty to embrace their roles in this transformative journey.

Governor said that Sir Syed University continues to lead in Information Technology; it remains committed to equipping students with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in an increasingly digital landscape. The inauguration of the AI Lab represents a significant milestone, providing a cutting-edge facility for research and collaboration. The university empowers students to become leaders in the digital age, fostering progress and development in Pakistan.

Governor Hashmi also highlighted the strong team of IT professionals and experts in the country, positioning Pakistan as a leading IT hub with ambitious goals of reaching $30 million in IT exports by 2030.

“Our nation is on track to become a significant player in the global IT market,” Hashmi asserted.

In a remarkable tribute to the vision of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, Engr. Z.A. Nizami and Engr. Zakir Ali Khan founded Sir Syed University and the Aligarh Institute of Technology (AIT), institutions dedicated to advancing education and fostering innovation in Pakistan. Today, the legacy of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan continues as Zakir Ali Khan’s son, Akbar Ali Khan, actively carries forward this important mission.

Chancellor Akbar Ali Khan, committed to upholding his family’s legacy, is dedicated to furthering the mission of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan by enhancing educational opportunities and fostering a culture of innovation. His leadership aims to inspire the next generation of students to embrace knowledge and contribute positively to society.

Chancellor Akbar Ali Khan underscored that the job fair is crucial for linking students with the industry, enabling them to engage with leading executives from various organizations and explore job opportunities. It also provides essential career advice and guidance to assist students in navigating their professional journeys.

Chancellor Akbar Ali Khan advocated for collaboration between universities and industries to create partnerships that offer internships, workshops, and hands-on training, thereby bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world applications.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Afzal Haque discussed the evolving landscape of career opportunities, stressing the necessity for vocational training alongside higher education.

(r) Syed Sarfraz Ali, SI (M) said that the Job Fair not only showcased SSUET’s commitment to empowering talent and creating endless opportunities but also served as a vital bridge between aspiring professionals and industry leaders, reinforcing the university’s excellence on a global stage.
