DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 30th Jul, 2026) The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority (KPFS&HFA) on Thursday intensified its crackdown against milk adulteration by conducting a joint checking operation with the Livestock Department at Bhakkar Bridge, inspecting milk tankers entering the district from Punjab.
During the operation, food safety officials collected milk samples from incoming tankers and tested them on the spot using a mobile food testing laboratory to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
According to officials, one milk tanker was found adulterated with water. The owner was fined under the relevant food safety laws.
In a separate case, another tanker was found carrying milk adulterated with milk powder. Following confirmation of the violation, approximately 2,000 litres of adulterated milk were destroyed on the spot to prevent its distribution in the market, while the tanker owner was also imposed a heavy fine.
The food safety authorities reiterated their commitment to ensuring the availability of safe and hygienic food for consumers, warning that strict legal action would continue against individuals involved in the sale and transportation of adulterated food products.
They urged the public to report food adulteration and other food safety violations to help protect public health.
