SARGODHA, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 29th Jul, 2026) Commissioner Hafiz Shaukat Ali on Wednesday directed all concerned departments to remain
on high alert round-the-clock and ensure timely relief and uninterrupted public services
throughout the expected rainfall.
He issued these directions to Managing Director of WASA Abu Bakar Imran, and Executive Engineer (Highways), Malik Gulfam Awan while presiding over a meeting to review preparations for rainwater drainage in view of the weather alert issued by the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
The commissioner conducted a detailed assessment of preparedness and directed the authorities to keep staff, machinery and all essential resources deployed at vulnerable locations to ensure the immediate disposal of rainwater in the event of heavy showers.
He stressed that all relevant departments must remain fully coordinated and maintain a strong field presence to minimise inconvenience to the public.
He also instructed officials to continuously monitor low-lying areas and respond promptly to any emergency situation.
Hafiz Shaukat Ali warned that negligence during the rainy spell would not be tolerated.
