UoG reviews Rs6 billion budget for 2026-27



Nearly Rs. 3.75 billion were raised internally, while governance reforms saved Rs. 400 million last year

GUJRAT: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-July 29th, 2026) The University of Gujrat’s Finance & Planning Committee has reviewed a proposed budget of more than Rs. 6 billion for fiscal year 2026‑27, to be presented before the syndicate for approval.

The 36th meeting at Hafiz Hayat Campus, chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zahoor Ul Haq, recipient of the prestigious Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, underscored financial discipline and resource mobilization.

Nearly Rs. 3.75 billion were raised internally, while governance reforms saved Rs. 400 million last year.

Savings funded student welfare, with Rs. 370 million in scholarships now supporting one in three students. Allocations include Rs.

450 million for 18 new buses, cutting transport costs by Rs. 60 million annually, and solar installations expected to reduce electricity bills. Faculty workload reforms saved Rs. 119 million. The budget will be presented at the forthcoming syndicate meeting for final approval.
