ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 16th Jun, 2026) Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police detained 17 suspects, including an Afghan national, and shifted 18 motorcycles to police stations for verification during grand search and combing operations conducted in various parts of the Federal capital.
An official told APP on Tuesday that the operations were carried out in the jurisdictions of Golra, Kirpa, Aabpara, Shalimar, Sabzi Mandi, Khanna and Shahzad Town police stations on the directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi.
The official said the search operations were conducted under the supervision of zonal SPs, while lady police personnel also participated in the exercise.
During the operations, police checked 372 individuals and 155 households, besides inspecting 29 hotels and 62 shops in the targeted areas.
According to the official, 213 motorcycles and 106 vehicles were also checked during the operations to verify ownership and identify suspicious activity.
The official said 17 suspects, including one Afghan national, along with 18 motorcycles were shifted to the relevant police stations for further verification and legal scrutiny.
Special checking points have been established at entry and exit routes of the city to ensure effective monitoring, while all patrolling units and special squads remain deployed across the capital.
The official urged citizens to cooperate with police during checking and immediately report any suspicious activity to help maintain law and order.
